The community Chairperson presides at board meetings and gatherings, is the representative for the community to the Upper Room Emmaus and other Emmaus communities, chairs the Team Selection Committee, and is an ex-officio member of all committees within the community.  The Chairperson serves a full calendar year, January through December.    The Chairperson serves one year as the Vice-Chairperson, a year as the Chairperson, and agrees to serve as Chairperson-Emeritus for another year; therefore the Chairperson may serve a four year term instead of the typical three year term.
